Bio

As a two time graduate of the University of Montevallo, I hold my Bachelors in Fine Arts with a Concentration in both Drawing and Painting, a Minor in Art History and in Writing. I also hold a Masters In Art Education and enjoy teaching my students at McAdory High School about art, its skills, techniques and possibilities. I am mom to my very special little girl, Aria who will enter Kindergarten this fall 2023. She loves to make art along with me.

I am a working artist and take advantage of my specialty in both Drawing and Painting by marrying techniques from both in my artwork to create a unique style. My body of work primarily focuses on pattern, texture, detailed line-work, and the layering of mediums. With vintage inspiration, pieces showcase diminutive details through a range of subject matter. Elements of design present a whimsical existence in newer works through dainty florals and bone, as well as dilapidated structures that weave in and out of or follow a preliminary pattern. Other artworks enhance the attention on the chosen subject through strong composition. Paint is utilized to accent organic shapes that fill the space while backgrounds seem to be void and distant, flooded with color, pattern, or line work.
